enews-banner-EN55 Italian beauty companies will exhibit at Cosmoprof Asia 2018, both at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre and at the AsiaWorld Expo, and they will share their products and services with the Asian beauty industry. These Italian exhibitors are active in the retail products, professional hair care and cosmetics fields, beauty salon equipment, contract manufacturing and packaging.

The dedication to the needs of international customers, and the ability to offer a combination of product quality, safety, innovation, service and a unique design are what sets the Italian cosmetics industry apart from the rest of the world.

Italy is an indisputable worldwide leader in the cosmetics arena. In 2017, Italian companies exported over 4.6 billion euros of cosmetics worldwide; Hong Kong in particular is the leading end market for Italian exports to Asia, and it is worth 199 million euros (+27.1% over the previous year).

Of this sum, 99 million euros are linked to products for body care (+26%) representing nearly half of the exports to Hong Kong; equally successful are alcohol-based perfume products with a value of 76 million euros and an increase over the previous year of 23%. Hair care products are less significant in terms of value (nearly 9 million euros), although they are interesting in terms of dynamics, with a growth of 75%. These three categories are worth 92% of Italian exports to Hong Kong.

As far as trends are concerned, the local market is experiencing a return to essential: new products launched in the area are characterized by claims oriented towards effectiveness, such as long-lasting, in addition to the claim “free of”.
